# An Introduction to the Erebus Angels

This is the tale of a land ravaged by peace. A bountiful world full of prosperity, whose residents know not the joys of war. In a kingdom ruled by order and beauty, there is only one thing on everyone's minds:

Eternal, unending, \*boredom\*

As it turns out, building the perfect heavenly society isn't all it's cracked up to be. With peace comes a lack of conflict. When there is no conflict, there is no challenge. Without challenge, one can grow bored so easily.

And with eternal boredom, even minor disagreements have the potential to unleash an ancient battle instinct that lies dormant within all of us - both angels and humans alike.

For generations, the angels of Erebus have sated their inner urges through games and competitions. This worked for a while, but has left certain, more powerful angels, unsatisfied.

Faced with the growing possibility of civil unrest, the queen of Erebus, Amira, has decreed that the gates to another world - Earth - once closed due to an ancient war - shall be reopened, so that the humans can bring excitement and intrigue to the land.

\---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"To all humans with noble hearts: I am Amira, the queen of the angels of Erebus. Long ago, our people fought a terrible war that left our worlds sealed off from one another. Now, in this time of peace, we are opening the gates to our world once again.

We invite you to bring your perspective into our world. If you have a noble heart and wish to aid us in building new forms of entertainment, art, and culture, then you are welcome in Erebus. I hope that we can work together and make each other stronger than ever before!"

This was the message sent by Queen Amira.

This is the story of those brave souls who ventured forth into unknown territory.

This is the tale of Erebus.
